Cats don’t usually enjoy going to the beach.
They’re not big fans of water and can feel uncomfortable and stressed in this environment. The unfamiliar sights, sounds and textures of the beach, such as sand and waves, may overwhelm them. Cats may also feel exposed and insecure in such an open space, causing anxiety or hiding.
Your cat’s comfort and safety are important. Make sure they’re in a secure carrier or on a harness and leash if you decide to take them to the beach. The best way of preventing danger and distress is by providing an indoor or controlled outdoor area.
